GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 722459
New default size doesn't look very good
Last modified: 2014-01-20 19:18:56 UTC
Created attachment 266582 [details] screenshot at 600x780 I know you changed the size to get the pieces to fill up to the top of the Clutter area, which is IMO most important. But there are some side effects: the pieces are now too blurry by default, and the window is unnecessarily wide. Eventually it'd be good to have a solution without these downsides.
It seems quite hard to find a proper default setting because a single pixel makes the clutter view being a pixel off and therefore it looks daft. Depending on the theme one could think, that we don't really have control about a single pixel. And there's a stranger problem: I set it to 587 by 555 (in the settings-scheme) and the screenshot ends up being 565 by 532. I don't know where the difference of 23 Pixels (in both dimensions) comes from. I have changed it again (screenshot attached) which works with the new layout (I've reworked it with a grid). If you are satisfied, you can close this bug. If there's a problem with the new layout, I am looking forward to the tickets :).

Looks good. The difference in the screenshot width is a known mutter bug (caused by the headerbar).
