GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 72216
link text in link properties is cut on some non-ascii characters
Last modified: 2004-04-01 23:44:57 UTC
This proble appears in "Element Properties" dialog opened after right-clicking on link and selecting "Properties". If link text (part between and ) contains some (not all!) non-english characters they, and the rest of the text, are being cut. This happens for example with polish "o acute" (0xb3 in iso-8859-2) on pages with proper encoding and with polish locale enabled.
coudl you give us a specific example (url) and some details on your system (glibc, locale settings under which you run galeon)
[misiek@wieszak misiek]$ locale LANG=pl_PL LC_CTYPE="pl_PL" LC_NUMERIC="pl_PL" LC_TIME="pl_PL" LC_COLLATE="pl_PL" LC_MONETARY="pl_PL" LC_MESSAGES="pl_PL" LC_PAPER="pl_PL" LC_NAME="pl_PL" LC_ADDRESS="pl_PL" LC_TELEPHONE="pl_PL" LC_MEASUREMENT="pl_PL" LC_IDENTIFICATION="pl_PL" LC_ALL= glibc-2.2.4 To see this bug in action you can go to http://michal.waw.pl/galeon-bug_72216-testcase.html
Wow! pretty impressive testcase, thanks :) This bug probably has to be traced to the mozilla current locale charset converters because its what we use for the converion of the unicode we get from mozilla itself.

doh, sorry, wrong bug
Due to lack of human resources to fully support the GNOME 1.x version of galeon these bugs are going to remain unfixed for the life of galeon 1.x. Please upgrade to the latest releases of the development series targeted at GNOME2 and report the same issues if they are still present. Thanks
