GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 722155
Deploy bugzilla.mozilla.org's sandstone skin
Last modified: 2018-06-16 13:26:18 UTC
Sometime in the summer of 2013 I noticed that http://bugzilla.mozilla.org had a significant facelift. It looks absolutely beautiful. We should totally have that for GNOME. andreasn voiced interest in working on a visual update for bgo eventually, but is waiting for a newer Bugzilla instance first.
Somebody would need to port to 4.4 first and volunteer to maintain and port such a skin for the future, then we could think about such sugar on top. ;)
Mozilla Bugzilla is a heavily customized Bugzilla. It is not 4.4. Upstream looks like: https://landfill.bugzilla.org/bugzilla-tip/ and nothing else!
https://wiki.mozilla.org/BMO/Roadmap_2014#UI.2FUX lists "migrate sandstone skin upstream, make default" - so this is planned for 5.0 in upstream.
*** Bug 724404 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Won't happen until upstream does not only plan but also acts...
This depends on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=988971 which just got postponed from 5.0 to 6.0 in upstream. I won't backport such a massive change until there is official support in upstream.
See https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-bugsquad/2015-April/thread.html for a proof of concept and related discussion.
After https://wiki.gnome.org/Initiatives/DevelopmentInfrastructure , GNOME is moving its task tracking from Bugzilla to GitLab at https://gitlab.gnome.org/ as previously announced in https://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2018-May/msg00026.html . See https://wiki.gnome.org/GitLab for more information. Hence closing this ticket as WONTFIX: There are no plans to work on Bugzilla.
