Description Adam Dingle 2014-01-08 14:33:37 UTC
With recent changes the Backspace shortcut apparently deletes a message rather than archiving it. To see this with a Gmail account, send yourself a message, then select it and press Backspace. The message will vanish from your All Mail folder.

Was this change intentional? If so, (1) the help needs to be updated since it still lists Backspace as a shortcut for archiving, and (2) I think an email messsage announcing this change to the Geary mailing list would be warranted, since there may be people who are in the habit of pressing Backspace to archive their mail, and this change could cause them to lose messages unexpectedly.

The change was intentional. I'll update the help with the updated shortcuts and send an email.
