GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 72102
Smart bookmarks folders?
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Smart bookmarks are great, but having many of them on toolbars can take up a lot of screen space. My proposed solution is to have a "smart bookmark folder". This would look exactly like a smart bookmark on a toolbar, but the button on the left of the search text box is a folder, not a bookmark. A user could type a string to search for in the box and then click the button. Since the button is a folder, a drop-down menu will reveal all the smart bookmarks inside the folder. The user can then choose which smart bookmark to apply the text to for searching. This proposal will only take up the screen space of one smart bookmark, yet it can be linked to (theoretically) any number of smart bookmarks. Why have multiple text boxes?
