evince shows \neq as = symbol using dvi.

I still could reproduce the issue with evince 3.8.3, but not with the latest trunk version. This seems to be fixed and this bug can be closed in this case.

Same here, I can reproduce the issue with Evince 3.4 but a newer Evince renders correctly the document.

Thanks for the report. I am closing this bug as obsolete.
