Description feldman 2013-12-11 17:00:56 UTC
I am using libXML2 2.9.0
I have an xsd Schema with default values assigned to some attributes. I set the option XML_SCHEMA_VAL_VC_I_CREATE on the validation context and am using the streaming xmlReader to read the XML file, with the Schema attached to do validation.
Validation works fine, however the default values for the attributes do NOT get set when they are absent in the XML file.
Is this a bug or a feature, or is there another way to set the default values?

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libxml2/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
