This is a problem with the thumbnailer used by Nautilus to generate the thumbnail, probably a problem in libopenraw.
I thought gthumb is the thumbnailer of nautilus. Should I address this issue parallel at libopenraw?

Submitted the bug for libopenraw: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72270
I was convinced that the thumbnailer was broken (ie didn't work at all). I'll look at the libopenraw bug.
