Description Rick C. Hodgin 2013-11-27 16:34:45 UTC
When using a size 1.00 pencil and drawing a line, for example, it would be nice if the line cues showed a different color when either the X or Y offset was 0.

This would provide an easy visual cue for a perfectly straight line, rather than relying on looking down and remembering the number, or trying to determine based on the non-antialiased line style. Another related feature would be if the ABS() of the X and Y offsets are the same (for 45 degree angles).
Comment 1 Michael Natterer 2013-11-27 21:13:09 UTC
Do you know that you can press control to constrain the line?
Comment 2 Rick C. Hodgin 2013-11-28 12:56:47 UTC
Yes. :-)
Comment 3 Michael Natterer 2013-11-28 22:03:54 UTC
So I'm wondering, what do you need the colored line for? Why not simply
press control and snap the line?
Comment 4 Rick C. Hodgin 2013-11-29 01:45:30 UTC
It's a cue. A guide. One without additional action. One which would be available as you simply move around. It's information that helps a person be more productive.
Comment 5 Michael Natterer 2013-11-29 09:52:30 UTC
That's a valid point and probably true, tho it's also a distraction.
I don't know which point is more important. Can you discuss this on
the gimp-developer mailing list where it gets more audience please?
Reopening.
