Description Alex Băluț 2013-11-26 12:35:02 UTC
When the zoom level is changed (for example with ctrl+mousewheel over the ruler), the timeline is animated from zoom level 0 -> new_level instead of current_level -> new_level.

Well there's something unnatural about the movement of clips when zooming in and out. If you look at the trimming handles (or the thumbnails), you will see that the clips “slide” from one side to another when changing zoom levels in the clutter timeline, see http://jeff.ecchi.ca/public/clutter-zoom-dancing-thumbnails.webm

Is that the issue you're seeing, or are you really seeing something else? Because it didn't look like the zoom was "jumped back to zero and forth to the desired zoom level" to me.

If your issue is the one I'm describing, then we should retitle this bug report for clarity.

As per a discussion on IRC, Alex's issue was indeed the one I observed.
Comment 3 Jean-François Fortin Tam 2014-09-27 21:39:30 UTC
Reopening: there seems to be a difference in behavior between zooming with the zoom slider vs using the shortcut keys. I still see the clips "sliding" around when changing the zoom at certain scroll positions.
