GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 719122
Browsing while filtered can be scary
Last modified: 2016-07-13 19:55:45 UTC
---- Reported by shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2013-10-12 11:48:00 -0700 ---- Original Redmine bug id: 7625 Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/7625 Searchable id: yorba-bug-7625 Original author: Shaun Crampton Original description: I just saw my girlfriend panic while browsing her photos. She'd enabled a filter on 4+ stars and then navigated to an album that she hadn't rated yet, forgetting about the filter. All of a sudden she saw a scary "There are no photos found" message and thought she'd lost her photos. It'd be reassuring if Shotwell used a message like "No photos match your filters, _show all 127 photos_." where the the latter half is a link/button that disables the filters. ---- Additional Comments From shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2013-10-12 11:51:00 -0700 ---- ### History #### #1 Updated by Joe Bylund about 1 month ago * **Category** set to _ux_ * **Target version** set to _0.16.0_ --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-25 21:59 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 7625 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7625 Unknown milestone "unknown in product shotwell. Still there on master
The subtle difference is "No photos/videos" vs. "No photos/videos found" - which isn't that intuitive.
Created attachment 331446 [details] [review] page: Make empty filter result message more clear Instead of the "No photos/videos found" use "No photos/videos found which match the current filter" to make clear that it's because of the current filter settings Signed-off-by: Jens Georg <mail@jensge.org>
