Mr. Boullion:

On the machine where this is happening, can you let me know if you have
gstreamer-plugins-bad installed?

I ask because a while ago, we had [something nearly
identical](http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/5252) to this get reported, and I
believe these may be the same bug.

If you feel comfortable running a daily build, can you try either [building
and running from our git repository](http://yorba.org/shotwell/install.html)
(or, if you're on a Ubuntu-based distribution, using one of the packages found
[here](https://launchpad.net/~yorba/+archive/daily-builds/+packages) and let
us know if that helps? (Please note that this will update your GStreamer
installation as part of Shotwell's dependencies.)

I'll go even farther and call this a duplicate of #5252. This will be fixed in
the next release of Shotwell, version 0.14. If you want to try it now, you can
build and install Shotwell from our git repo or, if you're using Ubuntu or a
derivative, install from our Daily Build PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~yorba/+archive/daily-builds/

Thanks for your quick answer, and sorry for my late response!

I do have gstreamer-plugins-bad installed, and this bug is indeed fixed with
version 0.14.
