Steps to reproduce:

  1. In Shotwell, with metadata writing enabled, import at least one RAW+JPEG pair, choosing to copy it when prompted.
  2. Add at least one tag to it.
  3. Exit the application.
  4. Delete the files ~/.shotwell/data/photo.db and ~/.shotwell/data/photo.db.bak.
  5. Relaunch Shotwell, allow the auto-import to complete and observe the results.

Notice that the tag added in step two is no longer present.

This also appears to be the case if you manually import the photos instead of
auto-import (listed in step 5 above).

Hi!
Is there any progress on this bug?
I would love to tag my raw+jpg pairs in order to work on them with another application. 
Please, this would be really helpfull.

One possibility for getting more attention to this bug is to post a bounty on Bountysource.com.  If you can get others to contribute toward the bounty, that often encourages coders to prioritize work on it.

Note that Yorba employees don't collect bounties -- I'm just suggesting this as a way of motivating external contributors.
