Description Charles Lindsay 2013-11-25 21:49:30 UTC

---- Reported by adam@yorba.org 2011-01-26 12:29:00 -0800 ----

Original Redmine bug id: 3132
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/3132
Searchable id: yorba-bug-3132
Original author: Adam Dingle
Original description:

Suppose that I do the following (in either Shotwell 0.8.1 or in trunk):

Start Shotwell and import a photo in place which is not in the library
directory.

Exit Shotwell.

In Nautilus, move the photo to a new directory.

Start Shotwell. The photo will be missing.

Drag the photo from the new directory into Nautilus, and elect to import in
place.

In Shotwell 0.7.2, Shotwell will import the file, but it will also remain
missing. In Shotwell 0.8.1 and in trunk, Shotwell will report that the file is
a duplicate and will decline to import it. All this behavior is surprising to
me: I had thought, erroneously, that in this situation all versions of
Shotwell since 0.7 would mark the photos as no longer missing and update their
location in the database to the new location.Jim, let's discuss more when
you're around.

I discussed with Jim and he confirmed that Shotwell should restore missing
files on a reimport from a new location: that was always the intended
behavior. Marking as a bug.
