GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 716338
browse images without importing (direct folder browsing)
Last modified: 2021-05-19 12:00:27 UTC
---- Reported by shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2010-06-30 05:47:00 -0700 ---- Original Redmine bug id: 2232 Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/2232 Searchable id: yorba-bug-2232 Original author: Paul Schulze Original description: Sometimes I just want to view some photos without importing them. And then maybe I want to quickly browse to another folder to view some photos from there. So there should be a browsing mode, where I can switch fast and easy between my folders on the drive. Thumbnails should be created on the fly, if I select a folder in this mode. Related issues: related to shotwell - Feature #1883: Directory browser sidebar in direct-edit mode (Open) ---- Additional Comments From shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2011-03-22 10:44:00 -0700 ---- ### History #### #1 Updated by Adam Dingle over 3 years ago * **Priority** deleted (<strike>_High_</strike>) This is a reasonable idea, but will probably not make 0.7; dropping to medium. #### #2 Updated by Paul Schulze almost 3 years ago I am **really** waiting for this feature, because there are a lot of photos, which one don't want to import. For example you want to browse some picture folders on USB stick from friends. So a fast preview rendering for these photos with access to the drives folder structure is – in my opinion – a VERY VERY MUST! Thanks so far for this nice software ;) #### #3 Updated by Adam Dingle over 2 years ago See also#1883. --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-25 21:45 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 2232 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2232 Unknown Component Using default product and component set in Parameters Unknown version " in product shotwell.
