GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 714742
search on the server
Last modified: 2021-07-05 13:27:30 UTC
---- Reported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-04-05 17:24:00 -0700 ---- Original Redmine bug id: 6772 Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/6772 Searchable id: yorba-bug-6772 Original author: Charles Lindsay Original description: After we display local search results, we should have a way to run the same search on the server. It seems useful to only run the server search if the user scrolls down to the bottom of the local results (and maybe presses a button), since it can potentially be a slow operation due to how IMAP search works. Old bugs clean-up... I would say this is still open. I never bothered for such a feature, as I download all the mail for my accounts. But for those who choose to download only latest messages, this feature would be very useful.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
