hi,

I understand that the design for your UI is that geary is an always-on client
that updates silently in the background but it is especially annoying to have
no way to know when it is syncing with servers and when it is done doing so.
i.e., if the update was really instantaneous, I would have no problem with
this but in practice, there is a fairly long lag (up to 30mins sometimes)
between when the mail appears in the gmail inbox web interface and when the
mail appears in geary.

Having a visual indicator of Geary's progress seems like a reasonable idea to
me. It's **not** instantaneous, as much as we'd like it to be, and without a
way of seeing its progress it can be difficult to tell it's working correctly.
