Comment 4 Age Bosma (IRC: Forage) 2015-11-27 14:31:52 UTC
I'd love to see this feature implemented as well. In my case it's mainly interesting for the label list. Some I prefer to have expanded by default, some I prefer to have collapsed by default. With a lot of labels it's a pain to have to do it every time I start Geary.
Comment 5 blask 2017-10-18 07:17:52 UTC
I have the same problem. Having to expand all the folders for all accounts on every start is tiresome. Especially because there is no way to know if there are unread messages "hidden". Unread counts are only shown on individual labels and not on the parent.
Comment 6 Federico Bruni 2017-12-22 12:29:58 UTC
Issues mentioned in the last two comments may be solved by the new sidebar mockup described in bug 730712
Comment 7 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 13:24:46 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
