Insert audio message into email composer
Last modified: 2018-10-28 22:25:59 UTC
---- Reported by geary-maint@gnome.bugs 2012-07-26 04:10:00 -0700 ---- Original Redmine bug id: 5582 Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/5582 Searchable id: yorba-bug-5582 Original author: Julien Chanséaume Original description: It is generally very long to write a short message: how to formulate, spell checking, ... Why not offer the ability to record an audio message directly in the email composer. The message would be included as an attachment in the email, as a wav/ogg/mp3 file. Audio attachments could be read directly from Geary. It would be a really innovative and productive feature for Geary. ---- Additional Comments From geary-maint@gnome.bugs 2012-07-29 02:04:00 -0700 ---- ### History #### #1 Updated by Eric Gregory over 1 year ago * **Category** set to _client_ * **Priority** changed from _Normal_ to _Low_ * **Keywords** set to _voice, voicemail_ This is an interesting idea; to a certain extent you can already avoid typing with text-to-speech software, but I realize that's not exactly what you're asking for. Moving to low priority for now. --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-21 20:26 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 5582 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5582 Unknown version " in product geary. Setting version to "!unspecified". Unknown milestone "unknown in product geary. Setting to default milestone for this product, "---". Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This is indeed an interesting idea, but it is a good candidate for a plug-in, once Bug 714883 is fixed.
I just wrote up a tracking bug for the plugin system over at gitlab that collects all of the requirements for feature requests that should be implemented as plugins in the one place, so closing this bug in favour of that ticket: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/issues/155
