Support for Outlook.com's IMAP is #7479. Because of this change, I'm revising this ticket for Exchange (EAS) support. --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-21 20:26 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 5640 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5640 Unknown version " in product geary. MAPI libraries may be useful for making exchange support a little easier
Support of MAPI is much appreciated, is there a chance to use OpenChange (http://www.openchange.org/) as it is used in Evolution-MAPI?
If support for EAS was added, it would have to be by way of a third-party, independently maintained library like OpenChange so that the maintenance burden of MS's upgrade-based revenue model isn't borne by Geary. Since EAS isn't IMAP based, this will be some work to incorporate into Geary as-is: - The `src/client` and `src/engine/api` classes need to have any IMAP-specific code moved elsewhere or abstracted out - EAS specific implementations of `src/engine/{imap-db,imap-engine,imap}` provided I'm happy to see EAP support incorporated into Geary, but since Outlook.com has supported IMAP since late 2013, this is less of a priority than it once was. Patches welcome! PS: Isn't MAPI a programming API? If so it's something Geary would consume, not implement.
openchange.org is not active anymore. The project seems dead. I found the sources in github: https://github.com/openchange/openchange
Hi all, thanks for your interest in this feature. This is a low priority for the Geary developers, and hence an implementation of it would need to come from the community. If you are interested developing an implementation, please jump in and lodge a merge request over at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary
