GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 713104
Next/prev buttons for search
Last modified: 2021-07-05 13:27:17 UTC
---- Reported by eric@yorba.org 2013-06-14 18:53:00 -0700 ---- Original Redmine bug id: 7105 Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/7105 Searchable id: yorba-bug-7105 Original author: Eric Gregory Original description: Geary's new search feature doesn't have a way to jump between matches. This useful if the match is several pages down in the conversation viewer. What we need are next/prev buttons, much like on the find bar. Ideally, these buttons could jump between conversations as well. Related issues: related to geary - Bite-sized #7104: Find bar should jump to first match (Open) ---- Additional Comments From geary-maint@gnome.bugs 2013-08-12 18:10:00 -0700 ---- ### History #### #1 Updated by Jim Nelson 3 months ago * **Target version** changed from _0.4.0_ to _0.5.0_ --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-21 20:19 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 7105 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7105 Unknown milestone "unknown in product geary. Dropping resolution
I can already jump between conversations in the search folder simply by using arrow keys. Minor issue: you have to first click on a conversation to get the focus on that pane and only then you can use the arrow keys. A nice thing is that in a long conversation only messages containing the match are expanded, which makes finding the relevant information quite easy. Anyway, a next/prev buttons to jump to searched matches would be handy.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
