Description Christian Stadelmann 2013-11-12 08:57:40 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. Use a web browser which does not provide a HTTP_USER_AGENT header. You can do this by installing "Custom User-Agent String" addon in Firefox and leaving the user agent field empty.
2. browse to https://git.gnome.org/

Expected:
Can use website the same way as with any other user agent string

What happens:
I get a "403 Forbidden" response

Additional information:
This seems to be a configuration issue since git.kernel.org and pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/ work fine using cgit too.

We have various bots which used to heavily overload git.gnome.org with an empty user agent

The GNOME Infrastructure Team is currently migrating its bug / issue tracker away from Bugzilla to Request Tracker and therefore all the currently open bugs have been closed and marked as OBSOLETE.

The following move will also act as a cleanup for very old and ancient tickets that were still living on Bugzilla. If your issue still hasn't been fixed as of today please report it again on the relevant RT queue.

More details about the available queues you can report the bug against can be found at https://wiki.gnome.org/Sysadmin/RequestTracker.

Thanks for your patience,

the GNOME Infrastructure Team
