GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 711745
RAR 5.0 password protected files problem
Last modified: 2013-11-11 20:34:03 UTC
file-roller added RAR 5.0 format support in GNOME 3.10 (thanks!). But there are bugs with password protected files. With a password protected file, if you enter the wrong password when extracting file-roller will fail instead of prompt it again. A password protected file created with "Encrypt filenames" will not work at all. Extracting or displaying archive contents will fail. Both errors shown are "An error occurred when loading the file". Fedora 20, unrar from RPM Fusion (unrar-5.0.12-1.fc20.x86_64). If you need, I can supply samples.

I cannot reproduce the problem using the same package versions but on ArchLinux. Please attach an archive to test, maybe the problem is not related to the rar version.

This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into version 3.10.2.1. Thank you for your bug report.
