Description:
  This is a repeat of a bug I just reported, but I did NOTHING else that might confuse the matter, too bad its not compile for debugging.
  So I start up gnumeric, select the A column, select Format Cells, date (yyyy/mmm/dd) and then choose the validation widget, Criteria was Date and Error Alert was Stop.   I then try typing in "aslkjfd" or something like that and it crashes.

  I look forward to 2.0!

I've patched the crash there were actually several levels of failure.  The date
validation had not been adequately tested.  Sorry.  However, it does not
actually do anything differently than a number.  I have no idea what XL does
here.  If you are interested I'd appreciate some research.

Tha patch will be in 1.0.5 due March 1, and 1.1
