Description David Bryant 2013-11-07 20:10:14 UTC
If the "normalization" plugin is enabled when burning a CD with more than 1 track, Brasero hangs very early in the burning process with maybe 1 or 2 percent on the progress bar. I waited many minutes (and I know this works fine on 3.4.1). The process is cancelable however, and disabling normalization fixes the problem. I tested this with WavPack, FLAC, and WAV files (same results for each).

BTW, I would not have noticed this except that normalization on by default, which I think is not the ideal setting (many people would be annoyed with this unless they were making "variety" CDs).

My system is stock Linux Mint 15 using the included Brasero (3.6.1) and GStreamer 1.0).

Thanks!

3.6 is not maintained anymore - testing with 3.10 is welcome.
Comment 2 David Bryant 2013-11-07 23:33:41 UTC
I filed this just because I ran into it and thought the developers might be interested. I don't need normalization and don't use this version of Brasero (3.4.1 works). I tried to build 3.10 but got to "Perhaps you need to adjust your ACLOCAL_FLAGS" and gave up.

However, a quick look at the Git repo showed that normalization has been turned off already because of this bug (which is related to the port to GStreamer 1.0) and so I'll mark this as a duplicate of that bug.

Thanks!
