Description JP Pozzi 2013-11-07 14:06:42 UTC
Hello,

When I receive long messages (eg server logs) Evolution is very slow, often more than 1 minute to display the message and eventually hangs, so I have to kill it.

It happens since 3.8.5, I try 3.10.1 with no success.

Regards

JP P

Sounds like a WebKit issue.

Please define "long message" as I have not had this problem so far. Testcase (which does not contain any private or confidential data) is also welcome.

Hello,

I would have said very long message. The messages where "big" server logs > 32Mo and 260000 lines!
Evolution was hanging and I have to "purge" some messages (destroy many lines in the files) files to "cure" the problem, thanks to the maildir structure, single files are easy to find.
With "smaller" files (# 2mo) the formatting is long but the programm does not hang.

Regards

JP Pozzi

Thanks for a bug report. I suppose you face bug #704271, thus I mark this as a duplicate of it. Of course, a backtrace would be needed to be 100% sure, but the 260K lines sounds just like it.
