Description Alberto Ruiz 2013-10-29 13:04:00 UTC
The "Mark as important" cell/column, when it's unimportant should have some sort of watermark when hovering to give the user feedback that that is not an area to select the row but an activatable area to mark the email as important.

I find myself trying to select a row (email) many times and hitting the blank space of the column.

If I had to suggest a fix, it'll be to show a watermarked (greyed out/somewhat transparent) version of the icon when you hover that particular area.

Maybe moving the "mark as important" column to the right-most side of the list will alleviate the problem (alone or with the "attachment" column).
Comment 2 Alberto Ruiz 2013-11-13 12:59:09 UTC
Well, it alleviates the problem, ish... I've done that and I still click on it accidentally from time to time.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:37:04 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
