Description Daniel Mack 2013-10-27 11:27:10 UTC
I have two screens: one built-in in my T420 (1600x900) and one external (1920x1200). Physically, the bigger (external) screen is arranged above the smaller one, so I wanted the GNOME screen arrangement to reflect that, but keep the built-in screen the primary one.

However, when configured that way in the display settings, the window behaviour on the big (secondary) screen gets very broken. Windows can not be snapped to either the left or the right side or be made full screen, and they can't be positioned to an area in the center of the screen which covers an estimated width of ~30%.

Interestingly, this does not happen when the bigger screen is made the primary one, or if the screens are arranged next to each other (left/right).

My monitors.xml is attached.

OS is F20 alpha, GNOME 3.10.1, but I already experienced the same thing with GNOME 3.8.
