Gnome-online-account & empathy handle two-factor auth for google, but not for facebook. Thus, I can't connect to facebook chat with empathy.

I suspect that it is not about 2-factor authentication, but about the X-FACEBOOK-PLATFORM SASL mechanism that is used by Facebook's XMPP server.
