Steps :
1 - Boot system
2 - Launch cheese
3 - In "Preferences" select 960*540 resolutin
4 - Cheese displays "There was an error playing video from the webcam"

Tested on Lenovo X230 Tablet

Expected result:

The current image of the camera is displayed in real time.

Actual result:

Cheese is not able to display video in 960*540 resolution
