The libepc/Avahi problem should probably be investigated, but it's not what's causing the crash.

The crash has been fixed by this commit:

There are several more fixes in the 1.22 branch, so you might ask Fedora to update their package:

I have filed the bug for Ubuntu too, suggesting that they update their package, but it can generally take a very long time to get changes in to the Ubuntu package:
