GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 710214
Cached Google contacts not available offline
Last modified: 2017-05-17 13:43:56 UTC
Right now, if the internet connection is lost and Evo restarted, Google addressbook will be unavailable (tested with 3.8.5). Just like an LDAP addressbook, Google addressbook should have copy for offline operation option.
The backend automatically caches contacts locally for offline viewing.
If I cut my internet connection, open a new e-mail and try to autocomplete with contacts from Google, it is not working. After bringing back the connection, autocomplete works immediately. Maybe it's some kind of timeout - no idea.
BTW, I just had this happen to me (F-19): - go to Google contacts in Evo - red box telling me authentication didn't work (contacts configured through GOA, nothing was changed, calendar seemed fine) - killed Evo using --force-shutdown - started Evo - Google contacts empty! - close Evo window, start it - Google contacts back where they are supposed to be Something weird is going on with this...
Created attachment 257463 [details] Authentication mysteriously stops working Note, absolutely no changes go GOA have been made. Keyring contains a valid password for my Google account (hasn't been touched).
(In reply to comment #4) > Note, absolutely no changes go GOA have been made. Keyring contains a valid > password for my Google account (hasn't been touched). At the time of taking the screenshot, I believe goa-daemon was not running. If I go into Settings, Online Accounts, it starts and runs (not sure whether related at all). Abrt not reporting any crashes.
(In reply to comment #4) > Authentication mysteriously stops working It happened again. Same error. Note that my internet connection has been up and running all this time (I know this because I've been logged into a system on another continent all day). If it matters, goa-daemon is not running.
This is addressed with changes for bug #508501, thus I'm marking this as a duplicate of it.
