A core piece of software is one that is preinstalled and cannot be removed. This applies to both apps and add-ons.

I think we discussed agreed that it would be good to see installed core software in the installed list - it's useful to see everything on your system, so you can get information about it.

A few notes here:

 * Core software should be listed below non-core.
 * These pieces of software shouldn't have Remove buttons next to them. [1]

[1] BTW - in 3.10 I currently see some core input method add-ons listed under Installed and with a remove button next to them.
