I'll attach a screenshot of how evolution 3.10.0 appeared here after walking through the setup assistant. It can be summarized as 'too small'. In particular, having the right-side headers stacked like that is just ugly and should not be allowed.

I think that was a hack for tiny netbook screens, but yes I agree it's ugly.

Medicine was worse than the disease in this case.  To accommodate small screens, we now instead hide the filter combo box if the window requisition exceeds the screen width.  If even that doesn't free up enough horizontal space, use mutt.
