GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 707417
option to link html files with their associated subfolder/files
Last modified: 2013-09-03 21:35:00 UTC
When you save an html web page you have the option to save it "complete", i.e. to save the associated files with it so that it will display offline the same as it does online (with icons, images, etc.). If you do so, these files will be saved in a subfolder named "mysavedfile_files" (if "mysavedfile.html" was the name of the html file saved from the web.) (the folder extension "_files" varies with localisation. e.g. in the french version of the OS it will be "_fichiers") Feature request : add an option to manage the html and its associated files together. 1. copy, move, delete, rename, compress... them together (in case of renaming there is a need to modify the content of the html file so that links to the associated files are not broken : example : within the html file the code src="mysavedfile_files/image1.jpg" becomes src="newname_files/image1.jpg") 2. indicate visualy that they are linked (for example hide the subfolder and allow to expand the view by a symbol to the left of the html file. view retracted : [+]mysavedfile.html view expanded : [-]mysavedfile.html mysavedfile_files )
Thanks for the enhancement idea. This kind of heuristics has been already requested (has been been considered out of scope for the file manager, see bug 639090 and bug 676352), but please feel free to report further enhancement ideas and any bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 676352 ***
