Description kpratt 2002-02-06 19:18:10 UTC
Package: gnome-core
Severity: blocker
Version: 1.4.0.4
Synopsis: Panel crashes
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-core
Bugzilla-Component: panel

Description:
If Nautilus runs - the panel crashes and vice versa.

I log in from XDM and if I do not receive a crash dialog concerning the panel, then the panel starts, and Nautilus seg-faults. Else, the panel crashes and Nautilus starts.

I do not understand this behavior.

I am using RedHat 7.2 updated to this date. I have used RedHat 7.2 on many systems without a problem. This problem arises on my Dell Inspiron 8000. If I install Ximian's desktop, the problem goes away completely.

I'd like to keep a pure RedHat 7.2 installaiton. Any insight into this problem would be much appreciated.
