We no longer show the user's name in the top bar or in the lock screen: this dialog no longer has any purpose.

Yes, might be worth waiting a bit with the settings removal to avoid breaking installations where module versions don't match up.

I wonder what GNOME Shell does when, during a live upgrade, the settings schema gets removed.
