Comment 5 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 00:59:01 UTC
gog_xyz_plot_update_3d is called at least 9 times when ->plotted_data
isn't NULL. That looks like a leak.
Comment 6 Jean Bréfort 2013-08-15 07:34:48 UTC
I fixed the leaks in gog-xyz.c, but we still have:

Leaking GOFormat at 0x160a3d60 [General].

Comment 7 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 14:06:08 UTC
The remaining valgrind leak says the same as the leak message. Formats
are ref-counted so knowning who allocated the format in the first place
unfortunately doesn't help.

The FMR looks bad. Really bad.
Comment 8 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 14:56:05 UTC
FMR fixed.
Comment 9 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 15:21:10 UTC
11:01 <@gmorten> gog_xyz_plot_get_x_vals, gog-xyz.c, line 125
11:01 <@gmorten> shouldn't that call to go_data_vector_val_new have g_free as a
                 destroy function?
11:02 <@gmorten> (and ditto gog_xyz_plot_get_y_vals, of course)
Comment 10 Jean Bréfort 2013-08-15 16:16:30 UTC
this is fixed, as well as an uninitialized data issue in staircase interpolation. Now trying to simplify the file, but gnumeric crashes on savig. To reproduce, manage sheets, select last sheet, remove sheets until the last one is "para" and save: boom. Getting:

** (gnumeric:17864): CRITICAL **: go_doc_get_uri: assertion `GO_IS_DOC (doc)' failed
Segfault
Comment 11 Jean Bréfort 2013-08-15 17:13:57 UTC
GOFormat leak fixed.
Comment 12 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 19:58:05 UTC
This took a _long_ _long_ time. I didn't follow your way completely,
but we're clearly holding on to some sheet we shouldn't.

Comment 13 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 20:42:47 UTC
The crash occurs when writing 'Vostok-IceCore-data'!F3 which references
sheet Omega-space.

The crash can be provoked by just removing depth_ie, then Omega-space,
then TODO. (The last one just ends up clearing the undo queue.)
The select 'Vostok-IceCore-data'!F3.

Removing depth_ie and then Omega-space shows that 'Vostok-IceCore-data'!F3
has a reference to Omega-space which should have been #REF! This doesn't
crash because Omega-space still lives in the undo world.
Comment 14 Morten Welinder 2013-08-15 23:50:40 UTC
Hmm... I think I may have had an old copy of that sheet lying around. The
file linked to in this bug doesn't have a Vostok-IceCore-data sheet.

I suspect the problem is a variant of the one described above, though.
Comment 15 Morten Welinder 2013-08-16 00:07:45 UTC
For the dependency problem see bug 706095.

This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.
Comment 16 Frédéric Parrenin 2013-08-16 12:50:54 UTC
The file still does not open using git gnumeric from a few minutes ago.
The error message is:
gnumeric: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/goffice/0.10.5/plugins/plot_surface/surface.so: undefined symbol: gog_matrix_plot_register_type
Comment 17 Morten Welinder 2013-08-16 13:45:22 UTC
That looks like an installation problem, not anything related to this file.
I would suggest trying

    make clean
    make
    sudo make install

to see if that clears up things.
Comment 18 Frédéric Parrenin 2013-08-16 14:41:01 UTC
Your solution does not work.
Moreover, the problem only occurs with this particular file, not with other files I have tested.
Comment 19 Morten Welinder 2013-08-16 14:57:51 UTC
What it is saying is that it cannot load the surface plugin. You will
have that error for any file that contains a 3d surface plot.

Any error messages or warnings during the compilation of the plugins?

This is the output of 'make install' related to surface:

specify the full pathname of the library, or use the `-LLIBDIR'

   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_LIBRARY_PATH' environment variable
     during execution
   - add LIBDIR to the `LD_RUN_PATH' environment variable
     during linking
   - use the `-Wl,-rpath -Wl,LIBDIR' linker flag
   - have your system administrator add LIBDIR to `/etc/ld.so.conf'

Comment 21 Frédéric Parrenin 2013-08-16 15:28:37 UTC
There is no particular warning or error message during the 'make' command.
Comment 22 Jean Bréfort 2013-08-16 15:57:13 UTC
Your Makefile needs to be updated, run autogen.sh again.
Comment 23 Frédéric Parrenin 2013-08-16 16:43:32 UTC
Yes that helps.
Note that the scale of the pseudo 3D axis ('Age' tab) has been lost.
Comment 24 Jean Bréfort 2013-08-17 08:27:19 UTC

Fixed too.
Comment 25 Jean Bréfort 2013-08-17 08:29:02 UTC
Note that the scale might be a bit different now for xyz plots.
