Description Jean-François Fortin Tam 2013-08-10 12:33:27 UTC
This will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

As part of a renewed branding initiative, I have decided that we should finally drop the silly camel case: from now on, we should say "Pitivi" instead of "PiTiVi" in all of our assets and public communications.

The historical "EpiTV -> EpiTV -> PiTiVi" stuff has been around for long enough and it does not mean anything. It hasn't had significant meaning since, well, 2006 or so.

Advantages of dropping the camel case:
- So much less of a pain in the arse to type
- Easier to read
- Brings back some maturity and professionalism to the name
- Not limited to the Beteckna font anymore

The (upcoming) redesigned website has already dropped the camel case (actually, the problems I had with fonts for the website played a significant part in motivating me to do this switch now), our G+ page doesn't use it, Bugzilla and the wiki have been corrected to reflect this, and all that remains is the code of Pitivi itself. I expect I'll be making a patch for that soon.

Just do it and be done with that I would say :)

commit 549e1e3b08528ab239092bf3d295bb272f0fdd24
Author: Jean-François Fortin Tam <nekohayo@gmail.com>

    Rename PiTiVi to Pitivi

This improves our branding, which is a surefire way to world domination.

Also update the source code file headers to drop the "non-linear" term,
as it is an anachronism. With software nowadays, any video editor is non-linear,
    so that term is redundant.
