I don't really see how the different comments and use cases represent the different examples for appsrc here :) Can you explain a bit more? I see the difference in the code, but what real difference does it make for these use cases?

Not sure what to do with this. I don't think the patch improves the comments really (I don't think the current ones are quite right either, in a live capture case one wants to just push in the data as an when it's captured and not react to need-data imho, but I suppose it depends on the capture API and scenario).
