I will create folder shortcuts on my desktop for whatever projects I am working on. It greatly improves my productivity, and if I accidently delete the folder shortcut, nothing is lost. I see that when I go to open a picture file in Gimp, it does not recognize folder shortcuts, so I have to spend time hunting down the specific folders. I hope this feature can be added. Thank You.
