configure and make are all fine.

sudo make install
make  install-recursive

It looks to me a very trivial bug in the configuration script.
Some variable may not be set correctly.  But I am not an expert.

My computer RedHat 6.4 x86_64

I have seen many posting for the same problem, not a single resolution.

This problem happened with all version of 1.x

Too old. Feel free to file bug reports or support requests against Red Hat.
