I suspect that this simply is bug #569372. So that bug is really still open.
I suspect that that is also related to bug #704109.

The patch from bug 569372 was the one I fixed in 704109.

This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.

We're back to optimizing this case and thus getting it right.  Bug 569372
is still very much alive.
