Screenshot showing the blank background set after selecting a large image

1. Place a very large image in ~/Pictures (I have been using this: http://www.caelumobservatory.com/obs/veilmosblock.jpg - 10370 x 7063 px, 11.3 Mb).
2. Open Settings -> Background
3. Select new picture
4. Observe that the background preview is correctly set, but the actual background is a flat blue. On reboot, this becomes black (see screenshot).

This seems to be a regression, I haven't been able to reproduce on a Fedora 18 machine (gnome-3.6) but it affects my Fedora 19 alpha laptop (gnome-3.8).

The bug being a display one it's likely a gnome-shell bug. My guess is that the texture size is too big.
