Description Calum Benson 2002-02-01 13:53:34 UTC
It would be good if the app name/version info in the GNOME About dialog was
focusable/selectable as the Authors/Documentation list now seems to be.
Comment 1 Luis Villa 2002-02-01 18:11:59 UTC
Leaving as severity normal since this doesn't seem to be as a high
priority for you, Calum. Please adjust up to major if you want.
Comment 2 Anders Carlsson 2002-02-11 01:49:54 UTC
Fixed in CVS.
Comment 3 Calum Benson 2002-03-13 19:09:15 UTC
This dialog appears to have been recently redesigned, now having a
Credits button and dialog. However, none of the version information
text in the main dialog is keyboard-only selectable in the new version
(although you can do so with the mouse), and neither is any of the
information in the Credits dialog. The info in the credits dialog is
probably less critical, but I think it's important to be able to
select and copy version numbers etc. from the about box.

The real solution is probably to fix the 'how to give focus to
selectable GtkLabels' bug (#59707), but in the meantime could we
consider working around by using some other widget to display the
version info?
Comment 4 Anders Carlsson 2002-04-08 09:21:22 UTC
I don't think it's worth to change the widget used to something else,
mainly because of two reasons

* I don't know which widgets to use instead

* I don't feel comfortable changing the widgets just to change them
back when #59707 has been fixed.

If you don't agree with this then feel free to reopen.

Bill, any particularly strong feelings about the lack of selectability
here from an accessibility viewpoint? Seth, Nils, anything to add to
the usability comments I made earlier in the report?
