GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 702305
Lock screen notification design updates
Last modified: 2015-06-22 08:27:19 UTC
These are described on the wiki: https://live.gnome.org/GnomeOS/Design/Whiteboards/ScreenLock/310Redesign Updates include: * changing the styling of the notifications so they aren't as heavy or dark * changing the default position of the time and date, so they don't have to move when the first notification is displayed * making it possible to activate lock screen notifications to open them * animating the arrival and movement of the notifications * changing the stacking order of notifications * not showing resident notifications and special-casing music (bug 686616) * having a summary area when there are many lock screen notifications
Lock screen animations can be found in bug 687660 .
Another change that is included here: change the layout of music on the lock screen.
Created attachment 249232 [details] [review] theme patch Simple theme patch that updates the background of the notifications to follow the mockups.
Prematurely closed.
Most of the cosmetic changes have been made. Animations are covered in bug 687660. Remaining tasks: * Separate each notification into its own box * Add a summary area when 1) there is no more space available 2) the hard limit of 6 notifications has been reached * Allow clicking a notification to open it See the design page for more details: https://live.gnome.org/GnomeOS/Design/Whiteboards/ScreenLock/310Redesign
To get some feedback I attach another design proposal: https://wiki.gnome.org/Design/Proposals/GDM
Allan, is this still current?
(In reply to Bastien Nocera from comment #7) > Allan, is this still current? There are two outstanding items, from what I can see: allowing people to open notifications, and the summary area. It's probably best to file separate bugs for this, though.
