GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 701651
Use OpenSubtitles.org to look up IMDB ID
Last modified: 2018-09-24 09:21:58 UTC
The OpenSubtitles.org website allows to look up an IMDB ID based on the contents of a file: http://trac.opensubtitles.org/projects/opensubtitles/wiki/XMLRPC And themoviedb.org can do look ups based on the IMDB ID: http://docs.themoviedb.apiary.io/#movies This would allow going from file's contents to movie details without going through mangling the filename, for example.
https://github.com/RedRise/lm has an example of looking up IMdB IDs.
Created attachment 272300 [details] [review] tracker: Export gibest hash if available If the gibest hash, used by OpenSubtitles, is available, export it so that we can use it to look up subtitles.

We still need to implement the lookup.
