GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 701042
Bluetooth: Computer running Ubuntu 12.04 with "visible"-switch turned on not visible for other bluetooth devices
Last modified: 2015-09-28 23:27:13 UTC
Reported at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/1094086 While connecting to other bluetooth devices works, it is not possible to access the computer running Ubuntu 12.04 via bluetooth from other devices, because it is not visible in the network. "Visible" from the bluetooth settings menu is turned on, thus the computer should be visible for other devices when searching for devices. Other devices can be paired with the computer when the initiative comes from the computer (The computer can see other devices which are visible). Expected behaviour would be that the computer is visible for other devices when the "Visible"-Switch is turned on. Hi Michael, Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using version 3.2.x which is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes by GNOME developers for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME, or feel free to file a bug report in the bug tracking system of your distribution if your distribution still supports this version.
