GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 700992
Restart due to crash at lock screen re-spawns gnome-shell in unlocked mode
Last modified: 2013-05-25 08:53:59 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Ctrl+Alt+L 2. Switch to a VT, `killall -SIGSEGV gnome-shell` 3. Switch back, and behold. Unlocked session. This is a contrived example to demonstrate gnome-shell's respawn behaviour, but I've seen this happen a couple of times due to normal crashes at the lock screen.
