Description bogdan 2013-05-17 22:27:56 UTC
The pressure sensitivy does not work with the "10x6.25 Inches Graphic Drawing Tablet w/ 8 Hot Key".

I downgraded to 2.6 and there it works without a hitch. I've also tried an experimental build from http://www.partha.com/ and still no working pressure sensitivity.

Hi,

just to be sure, there are a few tricks to know:

1/ the tablet must be plugged in *before* you start GIMP. Was it the case?

2/ the first time you use your tablet in GIMP, you must "enable" the tablet.

Go in "edit" menu > "Input Devices", you'll have a list of plugged-in devices on the left. Some of them will be about this device (usually one for the tablet, one for the pen, maybe one for the eraser, etc.). Select them and set them to "Screen" Mode ("Disabled" by default).

Did you do these steps?

Hello,

I did set the mode to screen having read that online and yes the tablet was plugged in before I started gimp.

The tablet gets detected as "Tablet, Port:HID, Dim: 10000x6250 Model 113 3 Button Stylus Pen (Pressure)"

Axes are set to X = 1, Y = 2, Pressure = 3
I've tried switching around the combinations and no luck. If I disable the tablet from Gimp it works because it acts like a regular mouse, but lacks pressure sensitivity.

If I set pressure to 3 or any other number whenever I press down it sends a multitude of keystrokes I think. The cursor changes to the move icon, or for a split second shows the right click menu or does nothing. This all happens in random succession.

I just find it weird that it worked flawlessly in 2.6. What's more this only is an issue when drawing on the canvas. All other components of gimp, menus, scrollbars, colorpicker respond normally to regular clicks and to the pen button action I set (in my setup, right click). So only the canvas reacts oddly when I try to draw with pressure senstiviy turned on and my pen button action (in my setup, right click) does not fire or is not displayed.
